A novel coronavirus (COVID-19) was identified as the cause of an outbreak of pneumonia reported in Wuhan (Hubei province), China on December 31, 2019.
With many countries now reporting that COVID-19 is spreading within the general population, the global risk related to the virus is increasing.
The changing situation requires that our agency, community, and individuals prepare for the potential wider spread of the infection in the community.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Shkagamik-Kwe Health Centre (SKHC) wants to ensure our clients that we are monitoring the developing situation and have resources in place to provide you with continued service.
In light of the of the evolving situation, it is important for all of us to work smarter, safer, and more flexibly. The changing situation requires that our agency, community, and individuals prepare for the potential wider spread of the infection in our community.
We have taken the following steps to ensure the security and productivity of our clients and employees:
- SKHC will remain open with a scaled back team to provide care for priority health services and plan to resume to full operation on April 6, 2020.
- SKHC encourages our clients to refrain from coming in for non-urgent care when possible
- SKHC will be providing expanded services over the phone during this time as required. All mental wellness services will be provided over the phone only and not in-person
- SKHC will not be hosting any community programs during this time
- SKHC will not be providing shuttle service during this time
SKHC Team Members will:
- Limit in-person meetings
- Self-isolate if they experience any symptoms
- Reduce the amount of time in public settings when possible

- Transmitted person-to-person
