The strategic planning process began with the presentation of an overview of strategic planning models to the Board of Directors. This group worked on tasks such as identifying stakeholders who needed to be involved in the process, assessing needs and resources, creating a preliminary process design, building community awareness and identifying a champion. As a part of this process a Planning group was established and a Strategic Planning Coordinator, Dr. Pamela Toulouse was engaged to facilitate the process.

The guidelines and values for the planning process held the SKHC mission to the community at its center: it was collaborative, inclusive and holistic in manner; considered the four directions to provide guidance and balance to the life of our process and the SKHC organization; celebrated our community and culture; built on SKHC’s commitment to the values of humility, honesty, truth, respect, bravery, love and wisdom.
